$3,264.00 raisedGOAL: $5,000.00
Thank you for supporting SURJ Bay Area as we mobilize to show up against white supremacists coming to Berkeley this Sunday, August 27th. To make our mobilization successful, we must purchase several critical supplies for use and distribution:
- Food, snacks, water ($400)
- Supplies (markers, gloves, medical materials) ($600)
- Art builds and banner-making supplies ($500)
- Space rental for meetings, information sessions, trainings ($400)
- Bike trailer and sound equipment ($300 + $1000 = $1300)
- Generator ($1800)
If you cannot join us this weekend, financial support is a critical way that you can show up. Please note that this fundraiser is distinct from our successful fundraiser for Community Ready Corps and that all money spent by SURJ on our work is matched by donations to People-of-Color (POC) led racial justice organizations.
Thank you again for your support!Donate

8/21 UPDATE: The response to this appeal is soaring and our gratitude to everyone who has contributed so far. We hit $5000 and we want to keep going! So we're aiming for $8000 now and you can help us get there! Please give what you can at this critical moment.
UPDATE: In just under 8 hours, we accomplished our initial goal of raising $2,500 for Community Ready Corps. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this critical force of community readiness, defense, and power!
In this political moment, we know that our work will not end on August 27th and CRC's investment in our communities is more important than ever. SURJ is doubling our goal to $5,000, again with 100% of donations made going directly to CRC.
We thank you for leveraging your resources with us -- one of many important ways we need to be showing up for racial justice, today.

CRC is a grassroots, Black-led organization that builds Bay Area racial justice infrastructure and invests in Black self-determination, including self-defense trainings.
Without paid staff, CRC coordinates logistics around local direct actions and rapid response. They provide microphones, video cameras, sound systems, trucks, generators — the core infrastructure necessary to make protests happen. They prepare SURJ organizers to provide security for actions so we’re ready when white supremacists come to town.
Next weekend, CRC is playing a vital role by training the folks doing security who will help maintain a safer environment for counter protesters.
Please help us support CRC by making a donation to SURJ Bay Area, today. 100% of money raised will be given to CRC.

UPDATE (2/10) We doubled our goal to $15,000 and within 24 hours, we met that! So as we hit the homestretch and our February 14th deadline, we're bumping up our goal once more - to $20,000! This would mean $4,000 for each organization, providing a substantial demonstration of our commitment to these communities and the dedicated efforts of those working within and serving them. Thank you for being part of this powerful act of solidarity!
UPDATE (2/8): Wow - this is what solidarity can look like. 13.5 hours after making this call to mobilize our resources, we met our goal of raising $1,500 per organization for a total of $7,500. It is clear we can do more.
To build on this overwhelmingly positive response and success, we are doubling our goal to $15,000 and humbly ask for your support as we engage our chapter, our networks, our comrades in this fight.
Our collective power can do more than we thought possible - thank you!
