A special Sunday Action Hour hosted by the Queer & Trans Committee! Want to take tangible steps to end racial injustice and white supremacy? Join a SURJ Action Hour! This is one way to truly Show Up for Racial Justice. We meet over Zoom to take concrete steps together: calling elected officials, signing petitions, etc. The facilitators and pod leaders for this event will all be active members of the Queer & Trans Committee. We welcome everyone to join, but are especially excited to join in community action with other queer and trans folx. Computer-generated closed captions will be available, and a screen-reader friendly version of the agenda will be provided. However not all websites will be screen-reader friendly. Please email queertrans@surjbayarea.org if any barriers to participation are identified, and we will do our best to address them.

​This is a HUGE election year and the New Georgia Project (NGP) is determined to phone thousands to get-out-the-vote this November. Join with SURJ Bay Area to phone bank on Saturdays and you’ll be in the company of other white anti-racist activists from the Bay Area, as well as people from Georgia and other parts of the country.
The job: Help Georgians make their plans to vote and navigate voting rights barriers which have been intensifying in the state. In NGP’s phone bank Zoom Room, you’ll get all of the training you need to help Black, Brown, young, LGBTQ+, rural Georgians, and others who have the power to move the state forward. And, you’ll get to practice your 1:1 skills and learn about what Southern BIPOC communities are facing.
