Sponsorship 101 Webinar: How You Can Help Migrants Coming to the Bay Area
The images are jarring. Immigrant kids in cages. No room to lie down. No running water. Immigrant detention centers are the concentration camps of our time. Our duty is to #CloseTheCamps and give respite to and welcome those who have had to endure them. Join SURJ Bay Area and the Asylum Seekers Sponsorship Project for an informational "webinar" - an internet conference call - to find out how you can sponsor (host) and/or accompany folks who have arrived in the current migratory wave. Please register in advance for either of these webinars:
• Friday July 19, 2019, at 7:00 PM P/T
• Saturday July 20, 2019, at 10:00 AM P/T
Please be sure to download the free Zoom app so you can fully participate in the call. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

THIS MONTH • July 7 – 21 • 5:00 pm
Stand Up Against ICE Raids!
Trump is threatening our immigrant loved ones and neighbors with mass raids and deportations. We're standing up against his racist and repressive attacks. The day any raids take place, we'll gather at 5:00 pm at ICE HQ. Raids tear apart families and cast a shadow on whole communities, making it difficult to go to work, school or live free from fear. Let's stand together – and respond with power, not panic. Watch this event page and text RESIST to 41411 for updates. Sponsored by Bay Resistance and AROC: Arab Resource and Organizing Center.
Location: ICE Headquarters, 630 Sansome St. San Francisco

S.F. Playdate Protest to #CloseTheCamps
This is a playdate protest that centers our kids, calling on Congresswoman Pelosi to do everything in her power to unify her party to close the concentration camps where children, families and other immigrants are suffering and dying. We'll be reading stories, singing songs, playing and making movement art. We'll also hear from families who've been directly impacted and make our voices heard all the way to Pelosi's office. Sponsored by Hand in Hand, Bay Resistance, SURJ S.F., and Rice and Beans Childcare Cooperative.
Location: 98 7th St. San Francisco - Gather in the Federal Building courtyard behind the Bamboo Asia restaurant (along Mission St).
